Marketing and Events Director

Yates is seeking a talented, creative Marketing and Events Director to join our growing team. This role will have two critical and interdependent areas of focus: driving our digital and traditional marketing activities, and expanding the reach and success of our Spark Executive Forum events. Candidates must have:

  • Inspired levels of creativity with an unstoppable desire to challenge "status quo" marketing strategies and techniques
  • A demonstrated ability to leverage digital / social platforms to accelerate brand, service offering and value proposition messaging
  • Exceptional creative writing ability including the creation of compelling emails, blogs, social posts and more


Responsibilities - Strategic and Digital Marketing

  • Develop, contribute to and execute marketing programs to support specific business development objectives, and makes recommendations on marketing tactics
  • Identify trends and insights relevant to the Yates business and target audience, and optimize marketing tactics accordingly
  • Brainstorm new and creative growth strategies with digital marketing tools and platforms
  • Plan and execute web, SEO/SEM, database marketing, email, and social media campaigns
  • Optimize and maintain the Yates social media presence
  • Evaluate the impact of marketing programs in achieving their stated objectives, including lead flow and other specific metrics
  • Propose and manage research projects to generate audience insights in support of improved marketing strategy and communications


Responsibilities - Event Marketing and Management

  • Create and manage detailed event execution timelines and milestones
  • Develop a detailed logistics plan in advance, review with team members and identify plan A, plan B and Plan C assurances to ensure a smooth event executions
  • Research target attendees, customers, prospects, and others associated with each event
  • Own the invitation and follow up process, and manage confirmed attendee touch points and messaging
  • Prepare materials for the program and communications for speakers, panelists and participants


Desired Experience and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, advertising, communications
  • At least 5 years of experience building and executing strategic and digital marketing programs and reporting on the results
  • Strong project management skills
  • Strong problem-solving ability, including metrics-driven thinking
  • Ability to travel as necessary
  • Experience and proficiency using Constant Contact, Hubspot, Salesforce or other comparable marketing tools
  • Well-versed in the use of social media platforms including LinkedIn and Twitter
  • Understands website metrics and best practices
  • Experience with search engine optimization, lead generation, and email marketing
  • Self-motivated, independent and able to successfully work from home or remotely
  • Strong organizational follow-through and time management skills
  • Capable of meeting deadlines and working with time constraints
